May Volleyball Camp Huge Success
Level 1 & 2 Camp, held May 3rd and 4th, was a great success! Coach Heather Clifton focused on the fundamentals of passing and serving, and many of the girls saw huge improvements in their skills. Campers worked on keeping things clean and simple, being aggressive, and communicating with each other. There were many different skills levels present, but each camper was able to learn and grow. All the campers appreciated what Coach Heather was able to teach them. Assistants Molly Farrington (from FSU), Kirstin Gebert, Anna Helfrich, and Sarah Thomas were also on hand to help out.
Our camp focus was on Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." We stressed the importance of using the gifts and talents God has given us (our light) to shine on our teammates. Each member of a team
should work hard to make their teammates shine! Campers put it into practice at the end of camp Friday as they worked together during "Queen of the Court".
The Crusader's Middle School squad looks to be AMAZING this season! Can't wait to see them shine!
